Last Day of School Picnic & Potluck
Join us as we close out the school year together! Our annual end-of-year picnic & potluck is one of our favorite traditions β a chance for the whole Alpine Valley School community to gather, share a meal, and celebrate everything our students have built this year.
This year's gathering will take place at Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge, where we've reserved the large pavilion at the back of the park. (Same beloved tradition, new location β Prospect is a little closer than Anderson Park.)
When: Thursday, May 21st, 2026 β the last day of school
Time: 4:00 PM β 6:00 PM (right after school lets out)
Where: Prospect Park Pavilion, 44th Avenue & Robb Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
Who's invited: Everyone in our community β current students and their families, alumni, board members, friends of AVS, and anyone who has been part of our story. Bring siblings, grandparents, partners β the more the merrier.
Finding the Pavilion The pavilion sits at the back (north end) of Prospect Park. From the main parking area off 44th & Robb, follow the path past the playground and ball fields toward the lake. The large reserved pavilion is clearly marked and has restrooms nearby.
Potluck Sign-Up There's a sign-up sheet by the back door of the school β please add your dish so we can make sure we have a good spread. Bring a favorite to share, enough for 6β8 people.
Grilling Good news: the pavilion has a BBQ grill on site, so you're welcome to bring things to throw on the grill. Just bring your own charcoal, lighter, utensils, and anything else you need.
A Note About Power There's no electrical outlet at the pavilion, so please skip the crock pots, warming trays, or anything that needs to plug in. Coolers, insulated carriers, and foil pans work great.
What to Bring
- A dish to share (sign up at the school first!)
- Drinks for your family
- Camp chairs or a blanket if you'd like extra seating
- Sunscreen and a layer for cooler evening air
- Anything for the grill, if you'd like to use it
We can't wait to see you there. This is the kind of afternoon that reminds us why we love this community β kids running around, families connecting, and a whole lot of good food.
