Graduation
AVS offers a diploma to each student who attends AVS for at least three years and successfully completes the graduation process.
Candidates for graduation must defend the thesis that they have taken responsibility for preparing themselves to become effective adults in the larger community. The Diploma Committee, made up of staff, students, parents, trustees and public members, manages the six-month process.
Many graduates from our school have chosen to continue their education at colleges and universities. Others are pursuing their interests in the business world.
Graduates who have what employers want
In a recent survey, hundreds of employers identified the important skills they want in job applicants:
• Oral communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Teamwork skills
• Flexibility
• Written communication skills
• Leadership skills and work experience
• Computer skills
• Proficiency in their field of study
Alpine Valley School is an ideal place to acquire these skills in abundance.

Graduation

"After graduation from Alpine Valley, my oldest daughter got a job with a large, national corporation. After a year with the company, and at the age of 19, she was promoted over 80 other applicants because — according to her manager — she demonstrated responsibility, was excited by challenge, showed exceptional maturity and communicated with ease. These are the traits that AVS students exemplify."

“I still live the values of freedom, respect and responsibility that I learned at AVS every day. I strive to achieve a high standard of quality in the work I do, both in my corporate life and at home.”
